Lucas Amaral has a diverse work experience starting in 2011. Lucas began their career as a Web Developer at ITA Júnior, where they designed a website using Drupal CMS. Lucas then worked at ITA as a Researcher, developing a tool to access a SVN repository and calculate software metrics using Java and PostgreSQL.
In 2013, Lucas joined Rocket Internet GmbH as a PHP Web Developer, where they worked on website development using Symfony2 and Silex frameworks. Lucas also worked on creating a CMS to manage restaurant pages. Simultaneously, Lucas worked at Backpacker as an Actionscript Developer, focusing on the development of game dialogues using ActionScript 3.
In 2014, Lucas joined CI&T as a Java Developer, focusing on developing Java web applications using Spring MVC framework and Primefaces. Lucas then worked at Borayu as a Web Developer, developing communication between a JavaScript mobile app and a REST backend written in Python using Django framework.
From 2014 onwards, Lucas worked at Shippo, starting as a Software Engineer and eventually becoming the Director of Engineering. In various roles at Shippo, they led teams, developed system architecture, wrote code, and reviewed code. Lucas launched upgraded integrations for key carriers, conceived a new testing framework for APIs, and integrated a new carrier. Lucas also overhauled the carrier integration architecture, solving scalability and processing issues, and pioneered the direct integration with USPS.
Overall, Lucas has a strong background in web and software development, with experience in various programming languages and frameworks, as well as leadership and project management skills.
Lucas Amaral completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Computer Engineering from the Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica - ITA, attending from 2010 to 2014.
