Shaun Wilson

Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Shoal Group Pty Ltd

Shaun Wilson has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Shaun is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Shoal Group Pty Ltd, a systems engineering design and analysis company. Shaun leads the business development efforts, focusing on large technology development projects in Australia and internationally. Prior to this, they served as the Founder and Head of Business Development at Shoal Group.

Shaun is also a Board Member at Daramalan College, a co-educational Catholic secondary school in Canberra. Shaun has been involved in the Space Industry Association of Australia as an Advisory Council Member since 2017.

Furthermore, Shaun has worked as an Advisory Board Member at Information Governance ANZ, where they contributed to shaping the organization's agenda on technology and information governance. Shaun was the Founder and Director of QxBranch, a quantum computing software and services start-up that was later acquired by Rigetti Computing.

In addition, Shaun held leadership positions in the Systems Engineering Society of Australia and served as a Director on the Boards of UberGlobal and Heliocentric Technologies Inc. Shaun was also the Program Director at Antarctic Broadband, a consortium developing a broadband satellite communications service for the Antarctic community. Lastly, they served as a Board Member for the Rapid Prototyping Development and Evaluation Program.

Shaun Wilson has a diverse education history spanning several years. In 1973 to 1979, they attended St Matthew's Primary School in Canberra for their primary education. From 1980 to 1985, they studied at Daramalan College in Canberra, obtaining their high school degree. In 1986 to 1987, Shaun pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering at UNSW. In the same years, they also attended the Australian Defence Force Academy. From 1988 to 1989, Shaun studied at RMIT University, where they obtained another Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering. Shaun later pursued further education in the field of Information Systems and completed a GradDip at the University of Canberra from 1996 to 1997.

Shaun's pursuit of higher education continued with a Master of Science (MSc) in Aerosystems Engineering from Loughborough University, which they completed in 1995. In 2004, they obtained a GradCert in Business Management from The Australian National University. Shaun also completed the LPSF Program in Business Management at Harvard Business School in 2011.

Furthermore, outside of their formal education, Shaun earned the certification of Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) from INCOSE in February 2019.
