Toby Zhang

Founder, CEO at Shop LIT Live

Toby Zhang's work experience begins in 2007, when they co-founded Tradeversity Incorporated. In 2009, they worked as an Information Management Leadership Associate at NBC Universal. Moving on, they joined Microsoft Corporation in 2010, where they held roles as a PM in Windows and in Finance & Strategy. At Microsoft, Toby contributed to executive strategic resource allocation and published an article. From 2014 to 2020, they worked at CRCM Ventures as a Partner, making investments in various companies, including Musical.ly (now TikTok), Ripple, and Ginkgo Bioworks. Toby also joined Edison Partners in 2014, working as an Expansion stage VC. Most recently, in 2020, they founded and became the CEO of Shop LIT Live, a live streaming platform connecting brands and merchants to consumers through immersive shopping experiences.

Toby Zhang has a comprehensive education history. Toby first attended Thomas S. Wootton High School from 2002 to 2006. After completing high school, they enrolled at the University of Michigan from 2006 to 2009, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus on Electrical Engineering. Subsequently, they pursued further education at the same institution from 2009 to 2010 and obtained a Master's degree in Industrial & Operations Engineering. Lastly, Toby attended The Wharton School from 2013 to 2015, where they completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Finance and Entrepreneurial Management.
