Maria Macali (Brown) has a diverse work experience in the field of marketing and communications. Maria started their career as a Marketing Intern at The Cleveland Play House in 2011. Maria then worked as a Marketing and Public Relations Intern at Life Core Technologies, LLC in 2011-2012.
In 2012-2013, Maria served as a Marketing Recruitment Specialist at Lakeland Community College and later became an Instructor at Cleveland State University.
Maria joined DDR Corp. in 2013 as a Shopping Center Marketing Manager, managing marketing efforts for a diverse portfolio of shopping centers across the US and Puerto Rico. Maria achieved significant results in consumer engagement and social media growth during their tenure. In 2016-2017, they took on the role of Manager of Corporate Marketing at DDR Corp., where they developed and executed the corporate marketing strategy.
From 2013 to 2014, Maria worked as a Freelance Marketing Consultant for two different companies, Steamfire and The Mobility Resource Marketing Group. During their freelance projects, they focused on maximizing exposure and implementing effective marketing strategies.
In 2017, Maria joined ShopCore Properties as the Director of Marketing and Communications. Maria later held the positions of Director of Development Marketing and Strategic Projects and Senior Director of Marketing and Communications. In these roles, they were responsible for repositioning strategies, brand development, digital advertising, market research, and event planning for redevelopment assets.
Currently, Maria is serving as the Vice President of Marketing and Communications at ShopCore Properties, where they oversee all functions of marketing and communications, leads a team of 12, and is responsible for achieving marketing objectives.
Throughout their career, Maria has demonstrated expertise in branding, strategic planning, public relations, social media management, and team leadership.
Maria Macali (Brown) began their education at Baldwin Wallace University in 2008 and completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Public Relations/Marketing in 2011. Maria then pursued further education at Cleveland State University, where they obtained a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Adult Learning and Development in 2014.
