William Liang has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. William began their career as a Software Engineer at AP-Mobile from September 2005 to March 2007. Following that, they worked as a System Analyst at Atos from April 2007 to July 2011. In March 2012, they briefly served as a Student Consultant at AT&T before joining Tata Consultancy Services as a TMIP Intern from June 2012 to August 2012. William then transitioned to McKinsey & Company as an Associate, where they worked from September 2013 to August 2015.
In 2015, Liang joined Shopee, where they have held several positions. William started as the Head of Business Intelligence from September 2015 to January 2018. William later became the Director of Business Intelligence & Strategy, holding the role from January 2018 to January 2021. William then progressed to Senior Director of Shopee Taiwan from January 2021 to February 2022. Currently, they serve as the Executive Director of Shopee Taiwan since February 2022.
William Liang received their Bachelor of Commerce/Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Management of Information Systems from The University of Auckland, from 2000 to 2003. William then pursued a Master of Engineering Science degree in Computer Science Engineering from UNSW, from 2004 to 2005. Finally, they completed an MBA in Corporate Strategy from the University of Michigan - Stephen M. Ross School of Business, from 2011 to 2013.
