Dave Hedengren is an accomplished data science leader with extensive experience in econometrics and economic analysis. They previously served as the Head of Product Data Science at Waymo and then advanced to roles at Microsoft, where they led the Metrics and Applied Science efforts for Core Search and AI, innovating user experience metrics through LLMs. Before that, they held managerial positions at Apple and JPMorgan Chase & Co., focusing on data-driven solutions to enhance customer experiences. Currently, Hedengren is the Director of Data Science at Shopify, advancing the development of internal LLM tools. They hold a PhD and an MA in Economics from George Mason University, along with a BS from Brigham Young University.
