Michael Onderdonk, CBIP has over 28 years of experience in the field. Michael began their career at Deloitte & Touche Consulting Group in 1993, where they worked on various assignments for clients in different industries. Michael then joined C12 Consulting in 2001 as a Lead Consultant, designing and developing software for clients such as Houghton Mifflin Company and Sun Microsystems. In 2003, Michael joined Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company as the Senior Director of Business Intelligence, leading the enterprise BI program and overseeing the implementation of BI solutions. During their tenure, they also managed the integration of staff and systems during a merger and subsequent outsourcing initiative. In 2017, Michael joined Shorelight as the Director of Data Architecture & Governance, responsible for the Data Warehouse and managing team members in building and maintaining data integrations between enterprise systems. Michael also led the effort to select a cloud-based data warehousing solution, conducting research and compatibility tests. In July 2021, they were promoted to Vice President of Software Engineering at Shorelight.

Michael Onderdonk, CBIP, has a strong educational background in the field of IT and data analysis. Michael obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Boston University, where they studied from 1985 to 1991. Following their undergraduate studies, they pursued further education at Boston University and earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Management Information Systems, completing their studies from 1991 to 1995.

In addition to their academic achievements, Michael has also obtained several certifications to enhance their skill set. Michael acquired the J2EE Certified Developer certification from Sun Microsystems in January 2001. Later, in October 2013, they obtained the CBIP (Certified Business Intelligence Professional), specifically in Data Analysis and Design, from The Data Warehousing Institute (TDWI).

Michael'scommitment to professional growth continued with certifications from MicroStrategy, a leading business intelligence software provider. In January 2015, they obtained the MicroStrategy Certified Dashboard and Mobile Designer (CDMD) certification, along with the MicroStrategy Certified Project Designer (CPD) and the MicroStrategy Certified Report Developer (CRD) certifications.

More recently, in August 2020, Michael achieved the AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate certification from Amazon Web Services (AWS). This certification attests to their competence in designing and deploying scalable solutions on the AWS platform.
