Ben Puterbaugh

Senior Design Engineer

Ben Puterbaugh is a highly experienced engineering professional with a primary focus on design engineering in the automotive sector. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer at Hitachi Astemo since January 2006, Ben specializes in the design of damper modules for passenger vehicles and ATVs, encompassing various components such as springs and valving systems. Previously, Ben held the position of Lead Design Engineer at International Truck and Engine from April 1998 to January 2006, where responsibilities included designing cab suspensions across all International vehicles and achieving four patents, two of which are in production. Earlier, Ben began as a co-op student at Delphi Chassis Systems from 1991 to 1996, gaining experience in brake and suspension manufacturing. Ben earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The Ohio State University between 1993 and 1998.
