Chante Carmel

Chante Carmel Lynn Frierson was born in Los Angeles, California and has a bachelor's degree in Dramatic Arts from the University of California Santa Barbara. She has had an extensive career as a performer on stage and screen as well as a recording/songwriting career. Broadway/Tour: Rent, Motown (Martha Reeves), Dirty Dancing, Waitress, The Lion King (Queen Sarabi), A Christmas Carol (Mrs. Cratchit). TV/Film: Different Worlds, A Different World (Iesha), The Burning Zone, ER, Boston Public and New Girl. She has been featured on soundtracks for the films Beauty Shop, Idlewild, Mars Attacks, Held Up and she penned the single “All or Nothing” from the soundtrack for the hit movie, Save the Last Dance. She is a former Menas Records recording artist and has performed background vocals for artists including Joi and Rapheal Saadiq.
