Julie Ann Harris

Dr. Julie Ann Harris, PT is the clinic director and co-owner of Shreveport Aquatic and Land Therapies. She received her Bachelor of Science in Applied Science and Health and Exercise Science in 2003 from Centenary College of Louisiana where she was awarded an athletic scholarship to participate in NCAA Division I Women's Basketball. She returned home to California where she earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from Loma Linda University in June 2007. She completed her post-graduate orthopaedic residency program at Rancho Physical Therapy in 2009 with extensive training in manual therapy, spinal treatments, and orthopaedic evaluations. In 2009, she became board certified in orthopaedic physical therapy through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. Her primary interests are in orthopaedics, manual therapy, spine rehabilitation, sports injuries, vestibular rehabilitation, headaches, and chronic pain. Her advanced training allows patients to seek recovery a quicker rate using current evidence based practice and the highest quality treatments provided. Prior to private practice Dr. Harris was a faculty member of the LSUHSC Orthopaedic Residency program and an adjunct faculty at the LSUHSC Shreveport Entry-Level DPT program where she enjoyed teaching and mentoring students to achieve a high level of clinical practice. She is an APTA Certified Clinical Instructor and also certified in Trigger Point Dry Needling by Kinetacore. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and also a member of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Association (LPTA). Dr. Harris has also volunteered her time to the profession by serving as the LPTA Shreveport District Chair and Executive Committee from 2010-2016 and also served as a board member of the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board, being appointed by Governor John Bel Edwards on December 27, 2016. Dr. Harris enjoys quality time with her loving husband, Chris, and their two wonderful children, Jaicee and Jaxon, traveling and spending time outdoors.
