Susan Gonzales

Susan brings eighteen years of experience as a Director of Nursing and was honored in 2007 as a Health Care Hero by the Worcester Business Journal in recognition of her outstanding achievements in the healthcare field. She has been with the Shrewsbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center since 2020.

As the oldest of eight siblings, Susan received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Northeastern Philippines. Five years after graduating, she left for the United States to pursue a nursing career and raise her family. Both her son and daughter have become nurses as well. Coming from a culture different from the United States is something she uses to her advantage in getting to know her residents and the staff, many of whom are also from diverse cultures. She emphasizes learning about her residents and their families as a key component of care. Her mission at SNRC is to make the residents’ lives as meaningful as possible in a family-centric environment.
