Vishal Shah

Vishal Shah is an experienced technology professional with a robust background in search technology and machine learning, currently serving as the Director of Search Technology at Rediff.com since June 2006. In this role, Vishal oversees machine learning initiatives, search ranking, recommendation engines, and large-scale distributed systems. Previous positions at Rediff.com include Associate Director of Search, where solutions for search ranking and data mining were developed, and further efforts as a Design Engineer and Senior Software Engineer focused on search algorithms and recommendation engines. In addition, Vishal volunteers at Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur, contributing as a solutions architect and mentor among a global team of IT volunteers. Earlier experience includes a Technical Lead position at Ask Jeeves Inc., developing classifiers for identifying spam and pornographic web pages. Vishal holds a Master's degree in Computer Science from Rutgers University and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from VES Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
