Neal Froneman has held various high-level positions in the mining industry. Neal served as the Chief Executive Officer of Sibanye-Stillwater starting in 2013. Prior to that, they were the President and CEO of Gold One International from March 2003 to December 2012.
Neal Froneman obtained a Bachelor of Accounting Science (BCompt) degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika, which they completed between 1982 and 1987. Prior to that, they earned a BSc in Mechanical Engineering with an industrial option from the University of the Witwatersrand, studying from 1977 to 1981. For their secondary education, they attended Northcliff High School from 1971 to 1976. Neal Froneman also holds additional certifications, including a Mine Managers Certificate of Competency from the SA Department of Mineral Resources obtained in 1994 and a Mechanical Engineers Certificate of Competency from the same institution obtained in 1984. Neal is also a Registered Professional Engineer accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa & Washington Accord, which they achieved in 1984.
