Carlos Afanador

Carlos Afanador is currently the Chief Product Officer at Sibme. Carlos has previously worked as a teacher and social studies department chair at KIPP Texas Public Schools - Houston, a teacher at Houston ISD, and a corps member at Teach for America. In 2008, they co-founded Syntal International, and in 2007 they were a faculty advisor at Teach for America. Afanador began their professional career as an intern at Marquest Financial in 2003 and as a legislative intern at the United States Senate in 2002.

Carlos Afanador has a BA in Business Administration - Entrepreneurship, English literature, and Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. Carlos also has a bachelor of arts from Grand Forks Central. In addition, they have certification from Section4 in Product Strategist and from Texas State Board of Education in Social Studies 8-12, Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities EC – 12, English Language Arts and Reading 8-12, and English as a Second Language Supplemental.
