Elmer Lastdrager is a seasoned research engineer at SIDN Labs, engaged in improving the security of home networks within the Internet of Things through the SPIN project since October 2017. Additionally, Elmer serves as a technical advisor at Fraudehelpdesk, providing insights on digital fraud and cybercrimes. As a technical consultant at Keravnos, Elmer specializes in cyber security, addressing issues related to phishing and social engineering while developing software for phishing email analysis. Elmer holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Twente, where research focused on cyber-crime, particularly phishing. Previous roles include head administrator of ProjectFrag and teaching assistant at the University of Twente. Elmer's academic background includes an MSc in Computer Security and a BSc in Computer Science, both from the University of Twente, along with a VWO diploma in Natuur en Techniek from Het Stedelijk Lyceum.
