Dr. Thomas Carl

Dr. Thomas Carl has extensive experience in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, currently serving as Head of Process R&D and Scale-Up at Siegfried since 2019. Prior roles include Head of Production at SI Group from 2017 to 2019, and Senior Process Manager at Novartis between 2012 and 2017. Dr. Carl has also held positions such as Deputy Plant Manager at BASF (2009-2012), Process Chemist at Ciba (2006-2009), and Research Fellow at UC Berkeley (2004-2006). Educationally, Dr. Carl completed a Postdoc in Organic Chemistry at the University of California, Berkeley, and obtained a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Basel. An earlier Diploma in Chemistry was earned at the University of Stuttgart, complemented by a brief research fellowship at the University of Reading in 1998.
