Victor Barres, PhD, is an accomplished researcher in the field of natural language processing (NLP) with extensive experience in both academia and industry. Currently serving as a Researcher at Sierra since October 2024, Barres previously held the position of Senior Researcher at Elemental Cognition and served as Principal NLP Scientist at Uniphore, focusing on natural language understanding for spoken conversations. Barres's academic foundation includes a PhD in Computational Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Southern California, where the dissertation centered on modeling language-vision interactions, alongside teaching roles in applied NLP and brain theory.
