Jason Moghaddas

Jason has lived and worked in the Sierra Nevada for 15 years. From working as a wildland fire fighter on a US Forest Service Engine to conducting research on fuel treatments and effects, Jason brings nearly 25 years of natural resource related experience to the SBC Team. Jason received both his BS and MS from UC Berkeley, with his studies and research focused on fire and riparian ecology. Through his on-going work on this and other studies, Jason had been a lead or co-author on over 20 published scientific papers. Through his work as a Fire Ecologist on the Plumas National Forest, Jason worked as part of an US Forest Service interdisciplinary team to plan and conduct National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) analysis for landscape level fuel treatments in a politically charged climate. As Conservation Director for the Feather River Land Trust, Jason worked with large land owners to help develop and fund conservation easements on working ranches in Plumas County. Jason is currently the Director of the Natural Hazards and Operations Team at Spatial Informatics Group.
