Kate Sotelo

Kate Sotelo is an experienced education program lead with a strong background in facilitating learning and community engagement, currently working with Sierra Club BC since September 2023. Notable contributions include reaching over 2,000 learners across 10 districts and designing impactful content. Previous roles include sustainability and community programs facilitator at UBC Botanical Garden, where Kate engaged over 1,300 individuals, and teaching assistant at The University of British Columbia, delivering conservation science education. Additional experience as a science club facilitator at Science World focused on underserved schools, and as a wildfire field research assistant provided valuable research skills.
