Luis Saavedra

Luis Saavedra is an experienced environmentalist currently employed by Sierra Club since September 2020. Prior to this role, Luis held various positions at the YMCA of Silicon Valley, including Regional Headquarters Information Desk Administrator and Aquatics/Youth & Family Coordinator. In these roles, responsibilities included onboarding new hires, employee support, and project management. Earlier experience includes positions as an educator in public schools, a Gamesmaker for Boston2024, an Outreach Specialist at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, a Project Manager for the Latino Student Success Initiative at College of Lake County, and Executive Director/Gang Diversion Program Coordinator for Spanish Centers of Racine, Kenosha, and Walworth, Inc. Luis holds a Master of Science in Sport Management from Cardinal Stritch University and a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
