Juan Acosta currently serves as a Program Officer for the Youth Suicide Prevention Media and Outreach Campaign at the Sierra Health Foundation. Additionally, Juan is an Advisory Board Member at Blue Shield of California, focusing on strategies that benefit BIPOC youth. Juan has been involved with the Steinberg Institute as a Board Member and participates in Viacom's Mental Health Youth Action Forum. Other roles include membership in the Young Professionals Committee at Fountain House and the CYBHI Equity Working Group for the California Health & Human Services Agency, contributing to equity frameworks in behavioral health initiatives for children and youth. Juan's previous positions include community engagement roles with the Mental Health Services Oversight & Accountability Commission and the Mental Health Association of San Francisco, where grassroots support was developed. Additional experience includes reporting for the Born This Way Foundation and an internship with Mental Health America. Juan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University and an Associate's degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Woodland Community College.
