Jeff Hickerson

Jeff Hickerson is a seasoned aerospace engineer with extensive experience in leadership and engineering roles within the aerospace sector. Currently serving as Senior Chief Engineer and Director of Engineering for Space Destinations at Sierra Space since June 2021, Hickerson has held various positions, including Senior Principal Systems Engineer. Previous experience includes over 19 years at Sierra Nevada Corporation, where roles ranged from Principal Systems Engineer to Principal Mechanical Engineer, alongside significant leadership in projects for NASA and other aerospace initiatives. Hickerson's earlier career includes mechanical engineering positions at XCELLSiS Fuel Cell Engines, Inc. and Analysis and Technology, Inc., focusing on innovative fuel cell technologies and systems design for military applications. A graduate of San Diego State University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Hickerson was also named SpaceDev Employee of the Year in 2004.
