Scott Mitzner

Scott Mitzner, PE, serves as a Senior Principal Materials Engineer at Sierra Space, leading materials and processes for the Dream Chaser Cargo System since June 2020. Previously, Mitzner was a Senior Metallurgical Engineer at Tesla, focusing on battery cell materials and research and development, and held roles at Advanced Forming Technology, where Mitzner advanced metal injection molding processes, and Seagate Technology, conducting failure analysis for hard disk drives. Mitzner's early research experience includes work as a Graduate Researcher at the Colorado School of Mines, sponsored by NASA, where Mitzner developed titanium powder core tubular wire for additive manufacturing. Mitzner holds a Master of Science in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in the same field from the Colorado School of Mines.
