EMDR Therapist at Sierra Tucson

Maureen O’Connor-Strout, MC, NCC, LPC joined the Sierra Tucson team in July 2000, facilitating grief groups and individual grief consults. After witnessing the power of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy for Sierra Tucson’s residents, Maureen completed her formal EMDR training and has been facilitating EMDR sessions at Sierra Tucson since January 2001, often using a somatic and/or attachment focus.

A graduate of the College of New Rochelle (1974: BFA Fine Arts & Graphic Design) and the University of Phoenix (1995; Masters in Counseling), Maureen remains passionate about EMDR, human resiliency, the ability to overcome adversity, and the power of supportive presence. Prior to Sierra Tucson, she worked in graphic arts and publishing, and served in adult and pediatric hospice settings. She also was a volunteer/volunteer trainer in a Level One Trauma Unit in the Emergency Department of a community hospital.
