Tracy Canales, PHR, SHRM-C has extensive experience in the field of human resources. Tracy began their career as an Executive Assistant at Sierra View Medical Center in August 2009, where they worked until May 2011. During this time, Tracy demonstrated their skills in talent acquisition and was promoted to Head of Talent Acquisition in May 2011. In September 2014, they were further promoted to the role of Director of Human Resources, where they provided HR services to all departments and supported SVMC's mission and vision. Tracy excelled in strategic planning, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with governmental and regulatory agencies. In November 2015, they were promoted to the position of Vice President of Human Resources & Marketing, where they continue to contribute to the organization's success.
Tracy also worked at COMFORCE from February 2008 to August 2009 as a Manager. In this role, they managed over 50 contracted staff and 50 agencies for the hospital. Tracy streamlined compliance, insurance, and payroll processes and was responsible for recruiting permanent positions for the hospital.
Tracy Canales, PHR, SHRM-C has a diverse education history. Tracy obtained their Associates of Science in Realtime from South Coast College of Court Reporting from 1994 to 1998, with a focus on Court Reporting and Law. Later on, Tracy pursued their Bachelor's degree in Management of Human Resources from Bellevue University, which they completed between 2013 and 2015. Tracy furthered their education and expertise by earning a Master of Science in Human Resources Strategic Management from Bellevue University from 2017 to 2018.
Tracy has also obtained various certifications to enhance their professional skill set. In 2014, they earned the PHR (Professional in Human Resources) certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI. Additionally, they achieved the SHRM-CP (Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional) certification in January 2015 through SHRM.
Furthermore, Tracy has continuously engaged in professional development, earning several certifications from LinkedIn. These include "Working with Difficult People," "Counterintuitive Leadership Strategies for a VUCA Environment" (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous), "Persecutors, Victims, and Rescuers: How to Deal with Psychological Games Players," "Uncovering Unconscious Bias in Recruiting and Interviewing," "Creating a Culture of Change," "Writing Email," "Building Accountability Into Your Culture," "Collaboration Principles and Process," "Holding Yourself Accountable," and "Leading with Emotional Intelligence." These certifications were obtained between 2018 and 2021, with the most recent one acquired in July 2021.
