Ashima Banks-Smith

Ashima Banks-Smith is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in internal control and compliance across various high-profile organizations. Currently serving as the Group Head of Internal Control at SIG plc since August 2024, Ashima previously held the position of Senior Manager of Internal Control at Crest Nicholson plc. Prior to this, Ashima led the Internal Control/SOX function at Asda, ensuring compliance and efficiency within a £23 billion turnover environment. Ashima's expertise also includes significant roles at Virgin Media, where responsibilities encompassed SOx compliance and financial oversight, and earlier positions in finance management at Telewest Communications and FGH. Ashima holds a qualification from The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
