Simon Johnson has extensive work experience in credit management and financial roles. Simon started their career in 1987 at Lucas Service UK Ltd / Lucas Industries, where they were involved in system development and implementation of Kerridge ERP across multiple branches. Simon later took on roles as Credit Manager, Purchase Ledger Manager, and Sales Ledger Manager.

In 1997, Johnson joined Metalfin UK Ltd as an Accounts Manager, where they were responsible for financial management. Simon then moved to WRG PLC in 2000, where they served as a Group Credit Controller and Sales Ledger Manager. During their tenure, they established a shared service center and implemented electronic point of sale signatures.

From 2003 to the present, Johnson has been associated with SIG plc. Simon initially worked as the Group Credit Manager and later as the SIG Director of UK Credit Management. In these roles, they oversaw credit operations for a £1.4bn UK turnover business with 300 branches and contributed to the company's global turnover of £2bn.

Simon Johnson MCICM (Grad), DMS, CDipAF has a diverse education history. Simon completed their HNC in Business Studies at Sheffield Hallam University in 1988, followed by a DMS degree at Sheffield University Management School from 1988 to 1990. In 1998, they pursued a CdipAF from ACCA, which stands for ACCA Certified Diploma in Accounting & Finance. In 2000, they enrolled at the Chartered Institute of Credit Management to earn their MCICM (Grad) degree, graduating in 2003. Lastly, in 2011-2012 they completed a degree in Professional Business Practice from Sheffield Hallam University.
