Carter Musick

Carter Musick has worked in the software engineering industry since 2011. From 2011 to 2014, they worked as a Programmer Analyst at the Center For Advanced Public Safety. During this time, they were involved in the development of various .NET MVC Web Applications for state government agencies related to health and human services. Carter also led a small team of student developers, managing day-to-day tasking and making technical and architectural decisions for systems in development.

From 2014 to 2016, Musick worked as the Lead Developer at Centralized Alabama Recipient Eligibility System (CARES). In this role, they were involved in interviewing, onboarding and organizing a team of 40 software developers for a large-scale state integrated eligibility and enrollment program. Carter also sat on a project leadership panel responsible for making decisions around scrum team composition, project process improvement, and daily management of developer-level employees.

Since 2016, Musick has been the Director of Development Services and Co-founder, Sr. Software Engineer at Sigao Studios. In this role, they work with a small team of developers on a variety of projects for both internal and external clients. Carter is responsible for maintaining, improving and updating an EmberJS and Ruby on Rails application to increase usability, provide new features, and improve code stability. Additionally, they have built multiple .NET web applications, using AngularJS and Angular2+ for the front-end framework, and built and deployed applications using Microsoft's microservices framework - Service Fabric.

Carter Musick has a Master of Science (M.S.) in Computer Science from The University of Alabama, obtained in 2013. Carter also holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Science from The University of Alabama, obtained in 2011. In addition, they have obtained the Product Owner and Scrum Master certifications from Scrum Inc. in February 2020, and holds the Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification from the Scrum Alliance.
