Khizar Khan has a wealth of experience in the technology and finance sectors, having worked in various roles since 2000. In 2000, they were a Member of Technical Staff at Sun Microsystems, where they were responsible for UltraSPARC Full-chip Verification. In 2001, they co-founded Verification Central and co-authored two books on design verification. In 2004, they became a Team Leader/Manager at Raza Microelectronics, responsible for CPU & SOC Verification. In 2007, they joined Network Economy Group as an Associate, focusing on Renewables and Utilities. In 2009, they joined Mubadala as a Senior Associate, where they screened 300+ venture opportunities, led technical due diligence efforts, and closed three deals. In 2012, they became Director of Finance at GLOBALFOUNDRIES, where they lead a cross-functional team of 30 people to design and implement a data-driven decision framework. In 2016, they founded Banda, a job-creation platform for the masses in emerging markets. In 2019, they founded Blankspace, an app focused on "near-by" services. In 2020, they became a Mentor at 500 Global and COO/CFO at SiGenex Inc, where they are helping to make personalized medicine a reality through accessible clinical genetic testing.
Khizar Khan obtained a Master's degree in Information and Data Science from the University of California, Berkeley, an MBA in Finance from the London Business School, a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Rochester, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Rochester. Additionally, Khan obtained certifications in Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera in November 2020 and Machine Learning from Coursera in October 2020.
