Bjorn Maaskant

Bjorn Maaskant has held various finance and operations roles throughout their career. Bjorn started at Korps landelijke politiediensten in 2003 as a Financial Officer and later worked at Gemeente Pijnacker-Nootdorp in the same role. In 2008, they became the Financial Manager at Media Focus on Africa and remained in that position until 2012. Bjorn then joined Search for Common Ground as a Senior International Grants Officer. From 2010 to 2013, Maaskant served as a Financial Consultant at Nairobits and Map Kibera Trust. In 2013, they became the Regional Finance Manager for East, Central & Southern Africa at Sightsavers and later transitioned into the role of Head of Finance & Operations Africa. Bjorn also worked as a Finance Manager at Inforkomm Media Services LTD. Additionally, Maaskant became a Trustee at Map Kibera Trust in 2017.

Bjorn Maaskant completed their education with a Master of Arts (M.A.) in Music Industry from Western Carolina University in 2002. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Business Administration from the same university in 2001. Before pursuing their higher education, Bjorn obtained a Bachelor's degree (BA) in Business Economics/Logistics from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences from 1997 to 2000. Their academic journey began with their high school education at Vallei College from 1992 to 1996, where they studied Geography, History, Mathematics, Dutch, German, and English.
