Maria Nettgen is an experienced researcher and educator currently serving as an Associate Member of Sigma Xi and a Member of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Maria's research experience includes developing microdissection techniques for horseshoe crabs at Fordham University's Rodenas Lab, where investigations focused on the neurological effects of ionic liquids, and synthesizing compounds for pollution removal in Thomas Lab. Additionally, Maria worked as a Peer Tutor at Knack, providing academic support to Fordham students in biology and ethics, and previously instructed tennis for children at Bay Village Parks & Recreation. Maria holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Fordham University and is pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching with a concentration in Science Education at NYU Steinhardt.
