Nikolas Pyrgiotis has a diverse work experience. Nikolas started their career as a Postdoctoral Associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2011. In 2012, they joined McKinsey & Company, where they held various positions including Associate, Engagement Manager, and Associate Partner & Venture Leader. In 2019, they served as a Strategic Advisor at the Athens Maritime Innovation Center. Nikolas co-founded Aviation Edge in 2011 and worked as a Co-founder for a year. In 2020, they became a BlueInvest Coach at the European Commission, helping startups in the blue economy become investor- and market-ready. Currently, they are the VP of Technology Ventures at The Signal Group, where they are responsible for technology partnerships and advising on technology ventures.
Nikolas Pyrgiotis pursued their education in the field of engineering by first obtaining a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London between the years 2001 to 2005. Nikolas then went on to study at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they completed their Master's degree in Transportation from 2006 to 2008. Continuing their academic journey at MIT, they later earned a PhD in the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics from 2008 to 2011.
