Uwe Geercken is a seasoned data engineering professional with extensive experience in data management and system development. Currently serving as a Senior Data Engineer at SIGNAL IDUNA Gruppe, Uwe specializes in technologies such as Java, Kafka, Openshift, Docker, and Spark. Previously, Uwe held roles including Senior Data Manager at skyguide and Development Lead for the Realtime Streaming Platform at Swissport International Ltd, where responsibilities included real-time processing with Kafka, Nifi, and Hadoop, among others. Uwe's career also includes significant experience in project management and data management at Swissport International Ltd, and an earlier role as an EFID Analyst at Jeppesen, focusing on the development of flight information databases, in addition to foundational training as an Air Traffic Controller and Dispatcher with the German Air Force.
