Derek Dempsay

Derek Dempsay has a long and diverse work experience in the telecommunications industry. Derek started their career in 2001 as a Network Engineer at eMerge Telecom, where they designed and executed the company's AIN Global Network. Derek also implemented various technologies for cost savings and provided technical support.

In 2004, Dempsay joined Mantis Telecom as a Network Engineer, where they implemented a VOIP network and managed routing for over 2500 country codes and numerous customers and vendors.

In 2005, they worked as a Network Engineer Consultant at PingPong Telecom, focusing on the implementation of a VOIP network for A-Z termination. Derek also researched and negotiated vendor pricing for products and services.

From 2006 to 2007, Dempsay served as a Network Engineer at GlobalNet, Inc., where they managed and implemented a colocation facility, directed the e911 project, and maintained VOIP platforms. Derek also played a crucial role in developing network availability plans and managing billing redesign projects.

In 2007, Dempsay joined PowerNet Global Communications as a Routing/Product Engineering Manager, responsible for overseeing routing and product engineering activities.

From 2011 to 2015, they served as the VP of Operations at Telaris Communications Group, a voice transit service provider. In this role, they managed the delivery of high-quality call termination services and developed comprehensive voice portfolios for various telecommunications carriers.

Dempsay then co-founded KeyVoIP Consulting in 2005 and worked as a Consultant until 2014, providing expertise in the telecommunications industry.

In 2015, Dempsay joined Xtelus as the VP of Operations, overseeing operations until 2019.

In 2018, they moved to NGL Communications, where they served as the VP of Operations.

Currently, Dempsay holds the position of Vice President Of Global Operations at Signalmash, starting in May 2021.

Derek Dempsay has a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunication Management, which they obtained from DeVry Institute of Technology in the year 2000. Derek attended various training programs and boot camps throughout their career, including OpenSIPS eBootcamp in 2020, Dialogic Networks Certified in 2011, Global Knowledge's CCNA BOOTCAMP V2.0 in 2011, VMware's VMware vSphere 4.1 in 2011, Centriq Training's Implementing a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Database, Maintaining a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Database, Tuning and Optimizing Queries Using SQL Server 2005, Designing High Availability Database Using SQL Server 2005, Troubleshooting and Optimizing Database Server Using SQL Server 2005, and Updating Your SQL Server 2005 Skills to SQL Server 2008 in 2010. Derek also attended MetaSwitch in 2009, Digium's The Asterisk Boot Camp in 2006, Emergent-Entice in 2006, NexTone's NexTone MSW/NARS in 2003, and Carrier Management Systems Inc.'s NAMS 2000 in 2001.
