Marcus Polke

Marcus is a Managing Partner.

He is an experienced Venture Capital investor with an extensive background in building and financing digital businesses as well as assembling world-class teams. As an investor in European technology companies, he has been working closely with high-profile companies that successfully exited to strategic and Private Equity buyers. Before joining signals Venture Capital, he was an Investment Director at Acton Capital Partners, the renowned growth and later stage VC, and a Venture Partner at Henq Capital Partners from the Netherlands.

Prior to becoming a VC, he ran the European business of Abebooks.com (sold to Amazon.com in 2008) as Managing Director, led e-commerce activities at AOL Germany and was one of the first people to work for Amazon Germany. He holds a degree in Economics and Management from Technical University of Berlin.

In his spare time, Marcus enjoys long-distance running - something that fits nicely with the long-term perspective we are taking with our portfolio companies.
