Phil Foster has a diverse work experience that spans several industries. Phil started their career as a Freelance Arts & Entertainment Writer for Mountain Xpress in 2011. Phil then worked as an Admissions Counselor at High Point University from 2012 to 2015 before transitioning to a role as an Admissions Counselor/Scholarship Liaison at Georgia State University from 2015 to 2017. During this time, they also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Film, Media, and Theatre Department at Georgia State University from 2017 to 2019 while pursuing their M.A. degree.
In 2018, Phil joined Mud Fence Productions as a Writer, Director, and Editor, where they wrote, directed, and edited fictional and documentary shorts. Their directorial debut, Trois, won the 2018 GSU Film Festival, and they also successfully launched a crowd-funding campaign for their M.A. thesis film.
In 2019, Phil worked as a Production Assistant for CBS Corporation and then joined Twentieth Century Fox, where they held the roles of Office Production Assistant and Video Playback Operator.
Currently, Phil is working as a Freelance Video Editor for Signature: Branding • Strategy • Media since 2021.
Phil Foster earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Creative Writing from Appalachian State University, where they attended from 2006 to 2010. Phil later pursued further education at Georgia State University, obtaining a Master of Arts degree in Film, Video, and Digital Imaging from 2017 to 2019.
