Viraj Patel has an extensive work experience in the financial sector. Viraj has served as CFO and Board Advisor for Resilinc since 2021, Signeasy since 2019, SimpleMachines, Inc. since 2019, and Fabric Genomics since 2019. From 2017 to 2019, they were the CFO for Ameri100. From 2015 to 2017, they were the CFO for Aqua Metrology Systems (Industrial Device/Software). From 2013 to 2015, they were the CFO for Aspire Public Schools (Charter Schools). From 2010 to 2012, they served as an Independent Board Member and Audit Committee Chairman for Helios & Matheson (Business and Data Analytics). From 2010 to 2013, they were the CFO for Imergy Power Systems (Industrial Device/Software). Finally, from 2005 to 2010, they were the CFO for UTStarcom (Wireless/Mobile/Broadband/Software).

Viraj Patel attended Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics from 1977 to 1979, studying Business Commerce. Viraj then attended Pace University - Lubin School of Business from 1979 to 1983, where they earned a BBA in Accounting. Viraj also holds a Certified Public Accountant certification from the New York State Education Department.
