Carin Powell

Carin Powell is the Director and Co-Founder of Signing Animation since January 2020, where directorial work includes the premiere short, Liftoff, with a focus on increasing opportunities for Deaf artists in the animation industry. Previously, Carin served as Lead 3D Character Animator at Anamon Studios from September 2018 to January 2020, leading animation efforts and directing critiques for an international team. Experience also includes a role as Tech Assistant at Animation Collaborative from April 2016 to December 2019, supporting animation students and troubleshooting technical issues. Freelance work as a 3D Animator and Illustrator spanned over a decade, accumulating diverse commissions that showcased creativity and quality. An independent contracting position with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation involved generating storyboards and collaborating on animation projects. Carin holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from the University of Connecticut and continues education at the Animation Collaborative and Cañada College.
