Chaitanya Ekkirala

Chaitanya Ekkirala is a seasoned professional in the field of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) with extensive experience in laboratory operations and management. Currently serving as Lab Director for NGS lab operations at Medgenome Inc since November 2017, Chaitanya specializes in optimizing NGS workflows and single-cell applications, particularly utilizing 10x Genomics technologies. Prior to this, Chaitanya held the position of Sr. Scientist for NGS lab operations at Medgenome since January 2014, overseeing comprehensive lab activities and managing a team of research associates. Chaitanya's academic background includes a PhD in Molecular Oncology from 2009 and a Master's in Biotechnology from D.A.V.V Indore, India. Additional research experience includes roles at the University of Torino and San Raffaele Scientific Research Institute in Milan, as well as a Junior Research Fellowship at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore.
