Ian Lin

Ian Lin is a Senior Battery Engineer at Sila Nanotechnologies Inc. since October 2020, focusing on the integration of conversion anodes in electric vehicle batteries. Previously, Ian served as an NPI Engineer at Sumitomo Electric, leading initiatives to enhance the energy density and manufacturability of cell stacks in the Flow Battery Division. Ian's early experience includes roles as a Program Assistant at SHAD Network, Graduate Student Instructor, and Graduate Student Researcher at the University of California, Berkeley, where coursework and research involved advanced manufacturing and materials characterization. Ian's career also includes a Battery Development Internship at Sumitomo Electric and a research position at Academia Sinica in Taiwan, concentrating on photovoltaic materials. Ian holds a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from UC Berkeley and a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering and Bioengineering from the same institution.
