Ali Abbas

Ali Abbas has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology. Ali currently holds the position of Director of Information Technology at Silah Gulf since January 2023. Prior to this, they worked as an Information Technology Manager at Exhibition World Bahrain from August to December 2022.

From November 2018 to February 2022, Ali served as a Software Design & Development Manager at Tamkeen, where they led the software and development team and was responsible for defining and implementing digital transformation strategies. Ali also held the position of IT Officer at Tamkeen from April 2013 to October 2018, where they provided leadership and execution of a comprehensive communications plan and developed technology partnerships.

Before joining Tamkeen, Ali worked as an IT Consultant at Saudi Aramco from September 2010 to March 2013. Ali started their career at Bahrain Air as a Senior System Developer from April 2008 to August 2010, where they led a team and provided architectural and development expertise.

Ali's early work experience includes a role as a Multimedia Specialist at the University of Bahrain from February 2006 to March 2008. Here, they developed multimedia presentations and software, as well as taught various software applications to students.

Ali Abbas has a diverse education history. In 2001, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in computer science from the University of Bahrain. Ali then pursued further studies in 2007, completing a DBA (DataBase) from BIT. In 2014, Ali enrolled in The George Washington University and earned an Engineer's Degree in Engineering/Industrial Management in 2015. That same year, they also enrolled in SBS Swiss Business School and attained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Research and Development Management. Continuing their education at SBS Swiss Business School, Ali pursued a Research Doctorate in Business Administration, which they completed in 2022.

In addition to their academic achievements, Ali has also obtained various certifications. Ali obtained the COBIT5 certification from ISACA in December 2018 and the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from PMP Certification Expert Aileen Ellis in July 2007. Ali has also completed the Georgetown Executive Fintech Program from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business in 2019. Furthermore, Ali has a pending certification in AWS Business Essentials from Amazon Web Services (AWS), with the month and year of completion not specified.
