Feras J. Ahmed

Feras J. Ahmed is the current CEO at Silah Gulf. Prior to this, they served as a consultant to the CE (Advisor) at Information & eGovernment Authority from October 2007 to February 2019. As a personal advisor to the e-Government CEO, they provided consultation on strategic matters and managed large scale cross-government transformation programs. Feras was also responsible for International representation of the e-Government program with leading organizations such as UN, World Bank, ESCWA, UNDP. In addition, they had prime responsibility for a business process outsourcing joint venture as a shareholder representative (Board Member).

During their time at Information & eGovernment Authority, Feras J. Ahmed made several specific achievements, including successfully leading a strategic, cross government initiative of digital transformation of the Business Licensing landscape in the country. This involved policy formulation, business process reengineering and an online system implementation (www.sijilat.bh). Feras also negotiated multi-million Dinar contracts from a legal and technical perspective to ensure Government best interests. Lastly, they played an instrumental role in developing key IT legislation – e-Transactions Law; Cloud Computing Data hosting law and Data protection Law.

Feras J. Ahmed has a MSc in Computer Science from the University of East Anglia, a BSc in Business Information Systems from the University of East Anglia, and an IB Diploma from Bahrain Middle/High School. Feras also has GCE O'Levels from Sacred Heart School.
