Remco Janssen

Remco Janssen has extensive work experience in the technology and startup industry. In 2014, they founded Silicon Canals, a leading English language technology media source for Benelux and Europe. Remco served as the Founder, CEO, and Editor in Chief until 2022. Additionally, in 2018, Remco founded and published Silicon Canals, further establishing it as a prominent media outlet.

In 2021, they founded Dusdat, where they currently serve as the Founder and Managing Director. Prior to these roles, Remco founded Proudly Represents in 2009, a consultancy working with high-growth tech startups and data-driven scale-ups.

Remco has also worked as a Startup Mentor at Rockstart from 2013 to 2021 and as an Epic (*) Startup Mentor at Startupbootcamp from 2013 to 2021. Remco has provided intensive mentoring to tech startups, helping them achieve higher levels of growth and funding.

Furthermore, Remco worked as a Freelance Marketing Communications Advisor at HelloLaw-NL from 2017 to 2018. Remco has acted as a communications consultant, contributing to the disruption of the legal landscape by offering affordable legal services.

Additionally, Remco has taken on teaching roles as a Docent Social PR at Beeckestijn Business School from 2012 to 2014 and as a Freelance social mediajournalist Communicatie at Adfo Groep from 2010 to 2013.

Earlier in their career, Remco served as a Freelance Country Expert | International Communication Consultant at yelster digital gmbh, where they were responsible for business development, PR, social media, webcare, and content strategy.

Furthermore, they worked as a Freelance PR Consultant for Scoupy BV, a location-based couponing startup, and as a Freelance social media journalist for the vakblad Communicatie.

Remco Janssen received their VWO-diploma from Wagenings Lyceum in 1997, where they focused on Gymnasium studies. Later, they attended HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht (Hogeschool Utrecht) from 2002 to 2006, earning a Bachelor's degree in Journalism. Additionally, Remco Janssen obtained a BA Jour certification from Utrecht University of Applied Sciences in July 2006.
