Val Guzman

Val Guzman, MPA, currently serves as the Electric Division Manager for Compliance at Silicon Valley Power, a role held since September 2014. Guzman manages the Electric Department's NERC Compliance Program, overseeing compliance with 80 standards and 600 requirements while directing a compliance team and co-managing the Critical Infrastructure Protection Compliance Program. Previous positions include Staff Aide II/NERC Compliance Analyst at Silicon Valley Power, Community Safety Assistant for the City of Dublin, and Records Specialist with the Fremont Police Department. Educational credentials encompass a Master’s degree in Public Administration with an emphasis on Urban Planning, a Master’s degree in Administration of Justice, an A.S. in Electric Transmission System Technology, and a B.A. in English with a Legal Studies emphasis from prestigious institutions including San Jose State University and University of California, Berkeley.
