Head of Brand at Silvr

Ruta Thottakara has had diverse work experience in brand management, marketing, and advertising roles. Most recently, they are the Head of Brand at Silvr, where they empower entrepreneurs by providing easy access to scalable and equity-free funding. Prior to that, they worked as a Visiting Lecturer at The Atomic Garden Vilnius, teaching brand KPIs. Ruta was also a Member at Pavilion. At Pleo, Ruta served as the Brand Marketing Lead, overseeing GTM strategy, product launches, market expansion, and international brand building across 16 European markets. Ruta successfully grew and managed a team of Brand & Performance specialists. Before that, they worked as an Account Director at Hogarth Worldwide, where they coordinated global audiovisual productions for GlaxoSmithKline. As a Senior Regional Account Manager at McCann, they led major advertising campaigns, including the UEFA Champions League Madrid finals campaign. Ruta also has experience as a Marketing Manager at the European Film Forum SCANORAMA, and as a Producer and Production Assistant in the film and TV commercial industry.

Ruta Thottakara studied at Queen Mary University of London from 2009 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Film/Cinema/Video Studies. In addition to their formal education, they also completed various certifications. In 2017, they attended a front-end development bootcamp at Turing Society. In 2020, they completed courses in Marketing and Brand Management through the Marketing Week Mini MBA with Mark Ritson. Furthermore, in 2021, they obtained certifications in the Reforge Growth Series and Marketing Strategy Series. Most recently, in 2023, they completed a certification course in Building B2B Marketing offered by Maven.
