Vimal Nakum

Vimal Nakum has extensive work experience in the technology industry. Vimal is currently employed at SiMa.ai, where they are involved in accelerating machine learning for the edge. Prior to this, they worked at Groq as a Senior Manager of System Software from 2020 to 2022.

From 2018 to 2020, Vimal worked at Nutanix as a Senior Manager of Engineering. In this role, they led platform software development for Hyper Converged Infrastructure products and focused on scaling and automating hardware/software qualification and product software integrations.

Before Nutanix, Vimal was a Senior Manager at EMC from 2010 to 2018. During their time there, they delivered multiple product releases for market-leading protection storage appliances and built Agile scrum teams and software development frameworks for new releases.

Prior to EMC, Vimal worked as an Engineering Manager in the Protocol Group at Promise Technology from 2006 to 2010. Vimal led a geographically diverse team in developing drivers for storage protocols such as Fibre Channel, SAS/SATA, and iSCSI.

Before Promise Technology, Vimal held the role of Senior Firmware Engineer at Ario Data Networks from 2003 to 2006. Here, they implemented RAID levels and multi-level RAID translation modules for Fibre Channel to SATA RAID controllers.

Vimal began their career at iPolicy Networks in 1999 as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed assembly language software modules for network security appliances. Vimal also contributed to the development of policy firmware modules for intrusion detection, quality of service, and URL filtering.

Vimal Nakum attended Dharmsinh Desai University from 1991 to 1995, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communication. Additionally, they obtained the certification of Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from the Scrum Alliance in August 2020.
