Azlina Zakaria

Azlina Zakaria has a diverse work experience in the field of agriculture and research. Azlina started their career as a Research Officer at the Forest Research Institute Malaysia in 2007, where they specialized in handling samplings and preservation of beetles. Azlina then moved on to SIME DARBY RESEARCH SDN. BHD. in 2010, where they worked as a Scientist and led projects on biological control in oil palm plantations. Azlina also served as a consultant and advisor to estate management for pest and disease management. In 2016, they joined Sime Darby Plantation Berhad as a Senior Executive before being promoted to Assistant Manager in 2019. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Agronomist at Sime Darby Plantation.

Azlina Zakaria completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia from 2003 to 2006. Azlina then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in the same field at the same university from 2007 to 2009. Afterward, Azlina enrolled in Universiti Putra Malaysia to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Entomology from 2014 to 2023. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification in Developing Your Emotional Intelligence from LinkedIn in August 2023.
