Laura Reid

Laura Reid serves as the Ombudsperson at Simon Fraser University since July 2012, managing an independent and confidential conflict resolution office while addressing concerns and grievances from both undergraduate and graduate students. Previously, Laura held roles including Interim Ombudsperson and NCAA Program Coordinator, where responsibilities involved supporting NCAA Division II student-athletes with academic advising. Laura's notable recognition includes the 2014 Fred Dietrich Award for contributions to SFU Athletics. Prior experience encompasses providing legal advice to clients through the UBC Law Students' Legal Advice Program and assisting the Department of Justice's Extradition Team with legal research. Laura's educational background features a Juris Doctor from The University of British Columbia, complemented by extensive qualifications in history and conflict resolution.
