Wendy Chun

Canada 150 Chair, New Media at Simon Fraser University

Wendy Chun currently serves as the Canada 150 Chair in New Media at Simon Fraser University since December 2018. Prior to this role, Wendy Chun was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania for a short period in late 2018 and held various academic positions at Brown University, including Professor and Chair of the Department of Modern Culture and Media from 1999 to 2018. Wendy Chun's distinguished career includes fellowships at esteemed institutions such as the Guggenheim and ACLS in 2016, as well as The American Academy in Berlin. Additionally, Wendy Chun has contributed to academic discourse at Copenhagen Business School and the University of Oregon while being involved with the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. Wendy Chun earned a PhD in English Literature with a focus on Critical Theory from Princeton University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Design Engineering and English Literature from the University of Waterloo.
