Adrian Price-Whelan

Adrian Price-Whelan is an accomplished astrophysicist and software expert currently serving as the Assistant Director of Scientific Software at the Simons Foundation since July 2019, following roles as an Associate Research Scientist and Flatiron Research Fellow. Adrian's prior experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at Princeton University from July 2016 to July 2019 and a position as an NSF Graduate Research Fellow during doctoral studies at Columbia University from 2011 to 2016. Earlier career highlights include work as a Junior Research Scientist for the Sloan Digital Sky Survey, focusing on software development for observational scheduling and public data access, and a role as a Specialist at Apple. Adrian earned a PhD in Astrophysics and a Master of Science in Astronomy from Columbia University, along with a Bachelor of Arts in Physics from New York University.
